Dealing With Exam Stress

Image
So that time of the year is slowly creeping in where the pressure of exams is looming. Whether you are in secondary school, or University, exam stress is something every student has in common and something we all have to go through. Now ordinarily in the past I've dealt with exams very maturely and tactically, avoiding all those last minute panics and worries. However, over the years and as I've gotten older I've come realise I certainly haven't gotten any wiser and gotten worse and worse with preparing and stressing over exams. So once again this is one of those posts that is probably more useful to me as a kick in the butt rather than anyone else, but if you happen to stumble across this please let me know if it was useful to you. 1. ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR EXAMS ARE INEVITABLE AND PREPARE EARLY Now this may sound stupid but if you're anything like me then you're very, very last minute with everything, especially important things and convince yoursel

My Favourite Place

Penmon Lighthouse and Puffin Island Aber Falls Aberffraw Beach and my dog Cally Something I have come to appreciate now that I live in the hustle and bustle of a city is returning home to the slow pace of the countryside. Now that I'm home from uni at Liverpool for Easter I decided me and my friend (who's also at Liverpool) should explore our surroundings a bit more and take in the natural beauty and some well-needed fresh air.  My amateur iPhone shots do not do these places justice because the peace and serenity of just being here is impossible to capture. I sometimes forget what a wonderful place Anglesey and North Wales  is and places like this remind me what a privilege it is to live here and be only a 20 minute drive away from a beach or even a waterfall.  Sure it may look grey and dull to some people but to me it is home. The mountains, the rivers, the sea. It's all part of where I'm from, and until you've actually been h

Motivation and Getting Back on Track

Image
So these past couple of weeks I've really been struggling with motivation and in general just getting out of bed, and I'm sure I can't be the only one. I seem to have lost all motivation in working out and looking after my body and my university work with the only thing getting me out of bed is going out to the pub.  Now I could just be describing the average student, but I don't like being this way, and it's completely out of character for me so I want to use this blog post to give myself, and anyone else out there struggling to motivate themselves, a strict list to get back on track. I have a fairly long Easter holiday coming up, as I live in the UK, and want to use this time at home, away from distractions, to bring myself back to normal. 1. MAKE YOURSELF A ROUTINE (AND STICK TO IT) Lack of routine is 100% one of the reasons why I cannot get out of bed or constantly feel out of sorts. With a different bed time every night is makes for a very strange da

The Perfect Match: MAC Lip Pencil and Lipsticks

Image
Faux Velvet Teddy A big part of being at uni is going out on a daily basis and getting a bit sloppy so I soon realised that keeping your make up look fresh was harder than it seemed. So here I introduce the nude lip, in my opinion, a timeless lip-look that has blown up thanks to Kylie Jenner's super enhanced chops. Now when it comes to MAC I found the perfect combo of lip pencil to lipstick colour ratio. Lip Pencil - Dervish - £12.50 Lipstick - Velvet Teddy or Faux - £15.50 each Velvet Teddy, now a hugely popular lip colour by MAC is a matte lipstick that truly stays on all night, even after the 3am chicken nuggets. Combined with the lip pencil your lip shape never disappears which is great. Faux on the other hand is a satin lipstick and is perfect for those nights where things take a more chilled turn. The lip pencil stays in place however I would recommend re-applying the lipstick whenever you feel necessary to maintain the look.  These two MAC

What's In My Bag: Uni Edition

Image
So its been awhile to say the least, but I'm going to spare you the apologises and commitments to more posts and get straight to the point. I've been a busy ol' bee with getting into Uni and settling down in my new environment, and to say I'm enjoying it is an understatement! Loving my course and all the new Uni friends I've made and so I thought now is a better time then any to return to something else I enjoy...blogging! Usual days at Uni involve maybe one or two lectures and a few seminars and tutorials squeezed into the week but I'm out of the house everyday and always carrying my bag. I have a Mulberry long strap bag, and before you all start to object to carrying around a potential £1000 bag around uni, it is in fact a fake! I got it from Greece and its a pretty good one if I'm honest. Inside I keep all my daily essentials: hay fever tablets, tissues, asthma pump; for those wheezy allergy days. Plasters, Vaseline and hair bobbl

Summer '15

The Melissani Cave and Lake Most photographed beach in the world - Myrtos Beach Girls Holiday in Malia Aber Falls Hey there! So to say I've been away awhile is an understatement, but like always I return with a new found motivation for blogging and writing about the things I enjoy. This summer has been one of the best yet, with two holidays abroad and some wonderful trips and adventures with my friends I can say I've truly taken advantage of my very long summer. I wanted to share some photos and memories on this post before I start officially preparing for university which I'm attending in a couple of weeks.  For those wondering, I got into my first choice uni which was the University of Liverpool to study Communications and Media with a Minor in English and I honestly cannot wait.  Hope you all had a great summer and would love to know what plans you have for September.  x

Emma Stone Obsession

Image
Well hey there! After having a good old nosy at the Golden Globes dresses and sufficiently judged each one (harshly), I came across Emma Stone. For a long time I've had a huge obsession/girl crush on her and after seeing her Golden Globes outfit I remembered why. This then lead to a search back to The Amazing Spider Man 2 premiers where I realised I'm slightly obsessed with her style too, which has now lead me to this rather weird, but wonderful tribute to the beauty that is Emma Stone. Let me know if you share a similar obsession with a particular celeb and leave a comment below. Thanks for reading! x
